Quality Matters - How we source our ingredients

One part butter, one part sugar, one part flour, two parts egg
The principle ingredients of a traditional baumkuchen are butter, sugar, flour and egg. The standard ratio for the ingredients are:
- One part butter
- One part sugar
- One part flour
- Two parts egg
At Spincake, we use eggs from pasture raised chickens who have at least 108 sq. ft. per hen to run around. Pasture raised eggs are not only more nutritious than conventional eggs, with higher in vitamin A, E and omega-3s, as well as lower in cholesterol and saturated fat, they taste better as well.
We exclusively use grass fed butter in our cakes. Grass fed butter is higher in omega-3 fatty acids and are thought to have anti-inflammatory properties. Grass fed butter has a deeper yellow color than conventional butter and a richer flavor profile.
Organic flour is sourced from the west coast of the US, and our organic cane sugar is source from Brazil.
You can taste the Spincake difference with every bite.
